Whacking The First Domino With a Sledgehammer
When you're young, you have nothing but time and potential.
When you grow up, your obligations end up being the things that motivate you the most to do what you have to do.
It's possible to say that growing up in and of itself is the act of having responsibilities -- people places and things to bear in mind and do right by. What does this do to a person's creative process? What happens when resources like time, money and space start to dissipate and you become more limited in terms of your "freedom".

I'm a Remote Control, You're a Circuit Board
This is a direct response to this blog entitled "Technofetishista" in which my best friend Warren, explains his computer gear sickness.
First, some background details. He and I lived together for about a year and a half or so about a decade ago and he was, is and will always be a collector. Our respective girlfriends at the time marveled at the dozen still-packed boxes of his stuff that literally leaned against one of our walls for the duration of our living together. Contained in these boxes were old computer mags, Pennysaver ad papers, a few gadgets, doodads, sketches (some of them old and some of them really neat) and other miscellaneous items that I can't describe in 2 words or less.

Micro-Son-tendo Wiiboxstation
I finished Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony recently and it sent me back to a constant source of debate for me. I finished that game on my most recently purchased console, the Xbox 360 and it was a downloadable exclusive to Microsoft.
I was the most reluctant to purchase this one out of all three of the current consoles. I had my reasons, including the fact that I already had a Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3. There were also various reports of colossal hardware failures in the first few iterations of Microsoft's box. I'm also an Apple mark, and citing many frustrations Microsoft machines have given me over the years compared to almost none with my Macbook, iPhone, iPod, Time Capsule and other yuppie Apple accessories, you can see why I might have relented in the investment.

All Work and All Play
It's Monday December 7th and I'm on vacation, spending it exclusively at home. I'm in pajamas, unkempt with a week's beard, sitting in front of a big TV playing GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony. If anything else, this is a brief reprieve from the stresses and pomp that I go through to buy things like the TV, so it's a nice balance.

Call and Response
I love playing shows. There are a lot of reasons why -- self-affirmation, catharsis, hearing applause, hearing drunk friends shout out "Woo!", free beer...the list is pretty long and it's topped by plain ol' enjoying the act of playing and singing.
